Finding a lump in the breast does not mean it has to be cancer, a lump could just be an accumulation of fat cells, blocked duct, or a cyst. Detecting a lump in its early stages, may reduce the chances of losing a breast or one’s life. Go to see your doctor when detecting anything that looks or feels abnormal. Examine yourself for breast cancer every month, buy using a mirror that is situated in the front of your body, look at your breasts, and take care in identifying any differences between them, then putting your hands high above your head, turn from side to side, taking care to inspect the breasts and the under arm pits for any lumps, swelling, different coloured skin, the next stage is to lie on a bed and put your right arm above your head, and using the left hand to feel the left breast, using gentle movements, pressing on the breast tissues in a crossway angle, this also helps if there is any dimpling, or tightness in the breast or skin, and then repeat using the right hand, making sure you have examined both breasts thoroughly. If after your examination you are not happy with anything that you have found consult your doctor.
